Joshua Dean Owens

Joshua Dean Owens, 40, of Hendersonville died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Mission Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Hendersonville, he was a son of Eddie Owens and the late Peggy Owens.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Otto and Zura King.

A graduate of East Henderson High School, Josh was an employee of Wendy’s and a member of Upward Baptist Church; Gethsemane Baptist Church was his second church.  In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and watching videos.

In addition to his father, Eddie, he leaves behind his sister, Rhonda Blackwell and her husband, David; brother, Danny Owens; niece, Kiara Owens; and a number of other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 18^th at Upward Baptist Church with the Reverend Wilburn Lefler.  Interment will take place in Kings Grove
Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upward Baptist Church, 935 Upward Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
