Josephina Garcia Lanning

Josephina Garcia Lanning, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Mission Hospital after a period of declining health. She was born in Ilfield, NM to the late Tranquilino and Almiria Garcia. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clyde Lanning Sr., and her son Lawrence Wayne Lanning. Josephina was a homemaker and studied cosmetology in college. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air force and a member of Immaculate Conception. Her favorite hobbies included crocheting and gardening and she was actively involved with the Council on Aging Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her son, Clyde Lanning Jr., and his wife Kim Lanning of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Lauren Davidson and her husband Jordan, Kevin Slone, and Justin Lanning; great grandchildren, Emersyn Davidson and Tucker Sloan; sister Esther Welch and husband Frank of Wisconsin; brother Ted Garcia of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at eleven o’clock a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
