Joseph Patrick “JP” Noonan

Joseph Patrick “JP” Noonan

Joseph Patrick “JP” Noonan was born in Westphalia, KS on July 3, 1938 to Charles Edward and Lula Woodward Noonan.  He was the youngest of seven children, born into a farming family and community.

Raised in devout Catholic family, JP attended all 12 grades of school in Westphalia.

With the early deaths of his parents, after high school, JP entered the US Army where he served from 1957 to 1959, starting with basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After tech training in Fort Belvoir VA, he served out his remaining service near Portland, OR as diesel generator technician.

He began a lifetime career in security services in Wichita, KS at Boeing Aircraft.  That work experience led to a move to Grand Prairie, Texas in the late 1960s, to LVT, Vought Aerospace. There he spent the next 28 years before retiring in 1996. He was known as “Joe“ to his buddies at work, and work is where he built many of his lifelong friendships. Those LTV years created many of his fondest memories.

In 1997 JP met his wife of 22 years, Carolyn, where they purchased their first track of land, in Bosque County, TX. That became the cornerstone for Texana, a place for longhorns, good friends, and family fun. He was proud to call the small community of Walnut Springs his home, and its people his good friends.

JP was a 50 year 32nd degree Master Mason. Originally with a lodge in Arlington, TX, made a change to become a Founding member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Lodge #1460.

JP passed away on April 25, 2021, suddenly while recovering from a fall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and all 6 siblings.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, 3 children: Joe, Lisa, and Sandy, and stepson, Michael, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
