John William Jackson, Jr.

John William Jackson, Jr. 72, passed away on Monday; November 29, 2021 at his home in Granbury.

John (Big John “Pop”) as he was affectionately known was born May 24, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to John W. Jackson, Sr. and Irja Wirta Jackson. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Big John “Pop” was a coin collector as well as a collector of many other items. He enjoyed drag racing, cars and doing carpentry. Big John “Pop’ was a steadfast grandfather who loved his family as well as his dog Raisin.

He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Jackson, Sr. and his mother, Irja Irene Jackson, his daughter, Melanie K. Dunn and by his sister, Jean I. Jackson.

Big John “Pop” is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah Jackson; sons, Lyle Jackson and wife Sandra and John W. Jackson, III and fiancé Stella; six grandchildren, Savannah Kapplin, Jade Jackson, Elyssa Dunn, Cody Jackson, Ricky Rios and Ben Dunn.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm. to 4:00pm. on Monday; December 6, 2021 with Funeral Services at 4:00pm. at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury.
