John W. Lael

John W. Lael, 76, of Springfield, formerly of Sherman and Williamsville, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born August 12, 1945, in Springfield, the son of RV and Marcella F. (Hinds) Lael. He married Diane L. Bosaw on November 29, 1968 and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Tawnya (Jay) McCann of Springfield, Angie Lael of Springfield, Bobbie (Ricky) Moore of Mechanicsburg, and Kim (Travis) Hudspeth of Riverton; ten grandchildren, Morgan McCann, Lacey Kay, Cheyenne Brawner, Colton and Kyndel Moore; Madalynn Stuebs, Sierra Hudspeth, Aubree Hudspeth, and Bradley and Kaden Hudspeth; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dogs, Lucy and Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara White.
John worked at Ward’s Warning Lights, with 20 years of service. After Ward’s, he worked maintenance at Super 8 and Howard Johnson’s for many years until retirement. John was a member of the 38 Club. He enjoyed rodeos, camping and watching WCW and WWF wrestling matches. John also loved car shows, especially looking at classic cars and hot rods.
Visitation: 11 – 1 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman, with Pastor Darrin Thurman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
