John S. Jones

John S. Jones

John S. Jones was born in Harvard, IL, to Doris and Gordon Jones on October 29th, 1951. He went to be with his precious Lord and Savior on April 9th, 2023.

John had always been a hard working man devoted to his family, his church, and his community.  John was an Eagle Scout, a Jaycee, a little league coach, an elder and deacon at his churches throughout the years, and a coach for his grandson’s soccer team. John worked most of his adult life as an insurance agent and took pleasure in meeting new people in the community and helping everybody he could.

John and his wonderful wife Dee were married in 1975 and have been on many adventures throughout the years including raising the most fantastic children. He was extremely proud of all three of them. John and Dee loved going camping, going on vacation, and most of all, going on missions trips to tell the world how much God loves them.

John had many hobbies that included golf, hunting with friends and family, puttering around his workshop, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. One of the things he loved the most was sharing the love of Jesus with everyone he met.

John found joy in helping anyone in any situation and was most happy helping his church, being with his friends from church, and taking people to church.

John is survived by his wife Dee (Dickie) Jones, his children John Jay Jones, Christina Linnea (Nate) Dame, and Alyssa Joy (Will) O’Donnell; grandchildren Josiah Nathaniel, Annabelle Joy, Jayden John Robert, and Jackson Bennett; brothers Thomas (Carol) Jones and Bill (Donna) Jones; sister Linnea (Steve) Kinney; as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and one great great nephew.
