John Russel “JR” Weakly

John Russel “JR” Weakly, 41, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born August 12, 1979, in Springfield, to John L. Weakly and Robin J. Marbold Weakly. He married Kathryn “KB” Maggio on September 17, 2011.
Surviving JR is his wife; parents; children: Jonathon, Dalton and Bianca Weakly; siblings: Jennifer (Brandon) Fletcher of Chatham, Michael (Sarah) Weakly of Sherman and Scott (Jenna) Weakly of North Carolina; grandmother, Mary Lou Weakly and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Hank and Lola Marbold and James Weakly.
JR was employed in the family business at Springfield Tractor & Trailer Sales, Inc. He worked in truck & trailer sales; as well as wearing whatever hat was needed at the time. He took great pride in his work and was highly thought of by customers and colleagues alike.
His passions included playing hockey, skiing, going to concerts, riding motorcycles, flat track racing at the Springfield Mile, and anything fast. He had a love for the beach and deep-sea fishing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loved making “his girls” smile, telling jokes, dressing up with his daughter and dancing any chance he got.
Visitation: 4 – 8 pm, Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, June 25, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Greg Marbold officiating.
Cremation will take place following services.
