John “Jack” Biedenbach, Age 84, of Marion, IA, went to sleep in Christ at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
John’s visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 1 to 3 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private gravesite will be held later.
Jack is survived by his wife, Linda of 63 years; his children, Jeff Biedenbach, Kathy (Rick) Brown, David (Erin) Biedenbach, and Joan (Mark) Tesdahl; his 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Pat) Biedenbach, Jr.; sister-in-law, Karen (Don) Gaddis, and Marisa (Ronald) Biedenbach. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ronald, his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Dorothy Ellingson, a brother-in-law, Don “Butch” Gaddis, his son, Doug Biedenbach, and his grandson, Connor (Joan) Tesdahl.
Jack was born on November 25, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the son of the late Donald and Marg (Penrod) Biedenbach of Mechanicsville. He lived his adult life in rural Marion. Linda had a large garden and Jack tended livestock to supplement food and income. In 1980, Jack became a business owner of Spray Land USA, where he, Linda, and their son, Jeff worked and grew the business for 43 years. He was well known for his knowledge of his business, his love of his family, his humor, and especially his story telling. Jack was in the Army Reserve for four years. They travelled for many years to Europe, Africa, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Unity Point Hospice and/or Alzheimer’s Association.
