Joel Andrew Baumgartner, 64, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by his family

Survivors include his four children, Matthew (Sara Akers) Baumgartner of Newport Beach, Calif., Mitchel (Haley) Baumgartner of Marion, Abigail Hott and Ashley Hott, both of Newport Beach, Calif.; his mother, Lois Bockenstedt of Edgewood; two grandchildren, Kaysen and Breckin Baumgartner; one brother, James (Karen) Baumgartner of Strawberry Point; niece, Jessica Helmrich of Coggon; nephew, Kyle (Kelly) Baumgartner of Strawberry Point; four great-nephews, Blaine, Sullivan, Jensen and Harrison; and special cousins and friends.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at St. Sebald Lutheran Church in rural Strawberry Point, with Pastor Margaret Yackel-Juleen officiating.

Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Interment: St. Sebald Lutheran Cemetery, rural Strawberry Point, Iowa.
