Joan L. Voshall

Joan L. Voshall, 98, of New Philadelphia, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 in her home, following a period of declining health.
Born in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Archibald S. and Frances E. (McMillan) Rees and a 1941 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Joan served as a “Volunteer Grandmother” at both West Elementary and South Elementary Schools in New Philadelphia and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ-Dover Restoration Branch at New Philadelphia.
Surviving are her children, David (Barb) Voshall of Blue Springs, Missouri, Sharon (Ken) Ward of Independence, Missouri, Deb (Tom) Shelestak of Canal Fulton and Charles “Chip” Voshall and his fiancé, Lynne Kolenich of New Philadelphia; four grandsons, Jared Voshall, Adam (Dian) Voshall, Eric Shelestak and John (Hannah) Shelestak; a great granddaughter, Anna Rose Voshall; her nieces and nephews Janet Cartwright, Thom (Vicki) Voshall, Bob (Heather) Voshall, Bobbie Jo Martin, John (Glenda) Dzuba and Karen Canaday.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Voshall and her sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Edgar Border.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A Private service will be held in The Church of Jesus Christ-Dover Restoration Branch at New Philadelphia with Elders Bruce Levengood and Tim Levengood officiating. Burial will be alongside her husband in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Community Hospice-Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
