Jim Merchant, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, with his family by his side.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Vinton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, also at the church, with Rev. Richard Jumper officiating. Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery with graveside military rites.
