We regretfully announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Neal Davis, age 57, of Azle Texas, on April 19, 2023 after battling cardiac issues and is now at rest.

Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Dad’s celestial passion for cars was observed by everyone that knew him. Throughout his life there wasn’t a vehicle he wasn’t interested in either looking at, working on, racing, or selling. When talking to our Dad about a car that you cherished, or a reminiscent story of the past probably in his shop with a beer in your hand. Regardless of the badge on the front. He immediately connected with you and knew that familiar feeling of adoration and pride. Your minds reflection immersing the two of you in a now shared memory that engages all senses. You could both hear and feel that music in the deep growl of the exhaust, the sweet smell of burnt rubber, oil, and gas. Feeling the rumble of a motor in your belly and through your feet. Hearing the compressor spooling up providing the familiar rising whistle of the turbocharger kicking in. Being in charge and one with that powerful beautiful beast. Trying and failing to replicate the sounds as you demonstrate shifting gears as your memory pushes forward. After your shared moment, he would of course give you a hard time if the badge was anything but a Chevrolet even though he loved his own Ford Truck. In that moment and in your story, you shared one of his happy places.

The only thing he loved more than cars was his Family. As cliché as it sounds, the honest truth is he was so proud of each of us and we all had a special place in his heart. Over the last couple of months, it seemed as if he purposefully shared so many special moments with so many of us. Whether it was helping with a project or teaching someone about a car, showing up when a hug and a silly comment was needed, sharing hours of laughter that made your faces hurt, celebrating a huge milestone for your kid, having the first ever sleepover in the new house, trying sushi for the first time, taking time out just to grab some food, and so many more treasured movements. Regardless of how close or distant you are. He loved you. He loved us even when we were hard to love.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Ruth and Dale Davis; two brothers, Gerald and Jason; his 4 sisters, Paula, Terrie, Wimberley, and Christina; daughters, “his girls”, Alicia and Sarah; former stepsons, Corey and Taylor; as well as his beloved grandchildren and of course his Chevelle.

Jeff will be forever loved and forever remembered by many more.
