Jeanne Carol Morris

Jeanne Carol Morris, 81, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday; June 28, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born October 13, 1939 in Rock Island, Illinois to Victor V. Gerber and Mary Louise Smith Gerber.

She and her husband Ed, knew each other since grade school, and then years later started their life together in Colorado and eventually moved to Washington in 1963. There they pursued several different business adventures. Due to various employment opportunities they moved to different places including, Seattle, San Juan Island, Oregon, Mexico, Alaska, and finally Texas.

Jeanne, along with her husband, often loved to entertain guests in their home. She was an avid crafter, quilter, and reader for many years. She loved to get together with her family and play games. She also spent a few years working at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Granbury, Texas as a secretary, music and Spanish teacher. Some of her jobs included bookkeeping for various businesses, as well as for several restaurants they owned over the years.

Jeanne was a member of the Family Christian Center in Palmer, Alaska where she and Ed were Missionaries to Chiapas, Mexico for over 20 years. She led women’s Bible study and was the choir director at FCC. In 1999, they adopted a baby girl, named Maria. They took many groups with them on mission trips down to Mexico.

Jeanne had many enduring qualities which created lifelong friendships. It was evident that she had a very strong relationship with Christ. She had many opportunities to disciple and lead others to Christ. Being a breast cancer survivor, she was an example of courage, resilience, and perseverance.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Victor Gerber and Ed Gerber.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ed Morris; daughter, Pamela J. Almasi and husband Lou; son, Jefferey Todd Morris and wife Maxine; daughter, Amy L. Naple and husband Gary; daughter, Maria D. Bogardus and husband Billy; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and  brother, Ron Gerber.
