Jared Lee Edge

Jared Lee Edge, 35, of Riverton, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 25, 1985, in Springfield, the son of Stephen E. and Georgia L. Monroe Edge and they survive.

Also surviving are two siblings, Derek (fiancé: Brittany Schmal) Edge of Decatur and Erica Edge of Riverton; grandparents, Donnie and Barbara Monroe; many aunts and uncles; and several cousins.

Jared is preceded in death by his grandparents, Halbert and Vera Edge.

Jared had a great impact on his community of Sherman and Williamsville.

He graduated from Rochester Elementary School and Williamsville High School. He attended Springfield Bible Church and Williamsville Christian Church. Jared enjoyed playing baseball through the
Springfield Park District. He participated in therapeutic horseback rides through the Braveheart Association. He attended United Cerebral Palsy camps and activities in Springfield. Jared loved and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, especially Elvis Gospel and John Denver.

Visitation: 10 – 11:45 am, Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.

Funeral: 12 pm, Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Pastor John Standard and Pastor Dave Beals officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Edge Family in Jared’s name for a memorial scholarship in nursing, at INB Bank – Riverton, IL.
