Janice Mae (Winterowd) Hootman, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Feb. 7, 2023, following a brief illness. Visitation will be held FROM 4 TO 7 P.M. Friday, Feb. 17, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Janice was born Jan. 2, 1943, to George and Lura (Davis) Winterowd. She graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Wally Hootman on Aug. 22, 1964. Janice gave 43 years of service to Rockwell Collins. She was in three bowling leagues up to the time of her illness. She loved attending Rose Bowls and listening to Elvis. When she wasn’t caring for her family, she enjoyed playing slots and traveling.

Janice was preceded in death by her son, Tyson Hootman; and brother, Dean (Linda) Winterowd.

She is survived by her husband, Wally Hootman; children, Terry (Audra) Hootman, Theresa (Larry) Harder and Tom (Latoya) Hootman; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Darrell (Sandy) Winterowd and Louise (Steve) Smola; nieces and nephews, Tammy Ryan, Tracy (Yvonne) Ryan, Gregory (Heidi) Winterowd and Jennifer (Mark) Wilson; and cousins, other family and friends.
