Janice Joy Ward went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2021 peacefully. Janice was born on 12/18/1954 to John C. Swinney & Joyce Riley Swinney in Ranger, TX. She later attended Grapevine High School. Interment will be on 5/22/2021 @ 1:00P.M. at Granbury Cemetery.
Janice was an outgoing, fun loving, and kindhearted soul. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a fierce mama bear to son John Richard. She loved cheering him on in baseball and other sports. She was the loudest parent in the stands.
She adored her granddaughters Maddie and Aubrey Joy. She loved them “to the moon and back…BIG TIME!” She was a wonderful Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a vibrant spirit and often shined with her Hoots friends at work.
Janice had many hobbies and passions throughout her life such as gardening, skiing both water and snow, sewing, crafting, collecting and restoring antiques, trail riding on horseback, telling ghost stories with family at Grapevine Lake, dancing, movies, reading, music, and road trips.
Janice is survived by her son John Richard Ward, granddaughters Maddie and Aubrey Joy Ward, brothers Johnny Swinney and wife Betty, Daryl Swinney and wife Mary, sister Diane Daigh, sister-in-law Sarah Swinney, and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by parents John and Joyce Swinney and brother Jim Swinney.
