Janice “Jan” M. Grove

Janice “Jan” M. Grove, 90, of Springfield died at 11:45 am, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at The Bridge Care Suites. She was born November 24, 1931 in Springfield, IL to Bill and Lucy (Shelly) Dowis. She married Dean D. Grove November 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death December 7, 2002.

She is survived by Blaine and Kelly Grove of California, Leigh Ann and Mark Bennett of Springfield and David and Michelle (Mizeur) Grove of Pleasant Plains; eight grandchildren, Lauren (John) Lawson, Blake (Kate) Bennett, Troy Bennett, Hunter Grove, Nicholas Grove, Sydney Grove, Morgan Grove and Mason Grove; three great grandchildren, Carter and Hudson Lawson and Elijah Dean Bennett; one sister, Willa Spoonamore of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.

Jan was proud to call Jerome home for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and retired from CIPS. She was a lifelong member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She was the eighth of eleven children.

She graduated from Feitchans High School. Jan was very patriotic and very strong in her Christian faith.

Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Friday, April 8, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with pastor Joanne Hinds officiating.
