Jane “Betty” Elizabeth Swierad

Betty was born in New Haven, Connecticut and passed away peacefully at Mountain View Assisted Living in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pauline and Sidney Hulbert; three brothers, Joseph, Steven, and Eddie Hulbert; a daughter, Lydia Goodwin; and a great-granddaughter, Lea Richardson.
Betty is survived by two daughters, Jane Bagby and Claudia Valentine; as well as two sisters, Eva DiCrosta and Pauline Tower.
Betty was blessed with and adored by 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her countless nieces and nephews, as well as beloved in-laws, brought her much pride and many smiles.
Before retiring to North Carolina, she was employed by L. G. Defilice in North Haven, Connecticut.
She found joy in everything around her. Some of her favorite pastimes were cake decorating, watching the hummingbirds, traveling, and most of all being with her family.
As her kind and gentle soul now resides with the Lord, she will be missed dearly by all but will remain with us in our hearts, as she continues to love and guide us with her wings of wisdom and her halo of hugs.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Betty on March 5, 2022 at the River Oak Community Club House in Mills River from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Her final resting place will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut. There will be a Celebration of Life of her on April 28, 2022,(time and place to be accounced at a later date).
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
The family would like to thank Mountain View Assisted Living and Four Seasons Hospice for their wonderful care, compassion, and love that she had received.
