MSGT JAMES N MOORE USAF RET.

James N Moore, 78, of Hendersonville, NC passed away peacefully at his home March 26, 2022.

The son of the late Cecil L. Moore and Evelyn Moore, he was predeceased by a sister, Linda Moore Burdette and a grandson, Justin Cleveland Thompson.

Born on October 30, 1943, he was a beloved husband, father, and stepfather. He loved God and his country. Most of his life was spent in service to his country, serving in the United States Air Force and the Nevada Air National Guard, before spending his retirement years in the Western North Carolina Mountains he loved. Loved by all who knew him, he will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Moore, of the home; a sister, Marilyn Barnwell (Allan) of Mills River, NC; two children, Paula Larson (Steve) and David Moore of Reno, Nevada; four stepchildren whom he loved as his own, David Steadman (Sharon) of Inman, SC, Christopher Steadman (Brandy) of Landrum, SC, Amanda Lowder (David) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Colleen Mullins (Michael) of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A private memorial will be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
