James L. St. Jules

James L. St. Jules, age 78 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 18, 1944 in Merced, CA the son of Leon and Dorothy (Hickey) St. Jules.

Jim was united in marriage on April 7, 1973 to Susan Kathryn Diederich and they have spent the next 49 years happily together. Mr. St. Jules was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL. He was a graduate of West Aurora High School and Illinois State University. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the war in Vietnam. He was a member of the Yorkville American Legion Post #489.  Jim was also a member for many years of the Phoenix Club of Aurora, IL.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Susan St. Jules of Yorkville, IL; his children, Steven (fiancé, Patti Wilson) St. Jules of Clearwater, FL, and Debra (Chris) Valentine of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Payton and C.J. Valentine of Yorkville, IL; his brother, Gerald (Betty) St. Jules of Bristol, IL and his sister, Sharon (Ronald) Kohler of Yorkville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

Memorials in Jim’s name may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
