James “Jim” Lee Jannesse

James “Jim” Lee Jannesse, 67, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital – St. Louis. He was born December 9, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Patrick H. and Dorothy Mae Smith Jannesse. He married Joan Brower on October 4, 1986 and she survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Patricia “Patty” Ann Jannesse of Springfield; one aunt, Nancy Hall of Springfield; and several cousins. James is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Patrick Jannesse.

He attended Griffin High School and earned his Master’s Degree in Botany from Eastern IL University.  He was very involved with the Boy Scouts and achieved the Order of the Arrow. He also became a nature director for several Boy Scout camps in the Midwest.

James was a teacher at the Parkway School District in Chesterfield. One of his favorite hobbies was photography and photo restoration. He truly enjoyed capturing different moments and creating videos with music that he would share with family and friends. James loved to travel and take road trips with Joan.

Memorial Gathering: 10 am – 12 pm, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield

Memorial Service:  12 pm, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Rev. James Isaacson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
