Grief is the price we pay for love……Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Stancato, Sr. announces his passing on April 19, 2021. Surrounded by two of his grandchildren, Jack passed away peacefully at OhioHealth Mansfield. He was 78.

Born on May 16, 1942 in Alliance, Ohio. He was the son of Frank and Mary (Muniz) Stancato. Jack attended Madison High School and was employed at the Ohio Brass Company for over 29 years. After retirement, he was employed at various factories.

For the past several years, our Dad lived with dementia. Although the disorder may have affected his memory and independent function, it did not affect his ability to love. He embraced the disease with grace. We will always remember that special smile, infectious laugh and most importantly how he taught us to love greater. Thank you, Dad.

Forever remembered by his daughter, Barb (John) Clow; his son, Jack Stancato, Jr.; and grandchildren, Colby (Cale Morrison), Jaclyn (Jordan Prise), Tanner and Joshua (Alexa Finley); his sister, Ramona Yeager; and brother, Richard Stancato; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Roger Drake.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his brother, Salvadore “Sam” Stancato; his brother-in-law, Tom Yeager; and his special infant nephew, John Yeager.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crystal Care of Ashland and a very special thank you to Dad’s best buddy Abby. She was always by his side and his sense of comfort and joy. The medical staff of OhioHealth and the hospice unit for the care and comfort they provided over the last several days.

At the request of our Dad, there will be no calling hours or service. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Stancato family.
