Iradj Khalkhali

Iradj Khalkhali of Hendersonville, N.C., entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2021. Those lucky enough to have loved him know that he is now joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 38 years, Barbara.
Born in Ahvaz, Iran on Jan. 11, 1935, to Ashraf and Fathollah Khalkhali, Iradj came to the U.S. as a young man to attend Auburn University.  He graduated in 1956 and went on to a career in engineering with Honeywell, GM, Xerox, and Wang before starting his own company, HiFlex Manufacturing.  While living in New Hampshire, Iradj enjoyed helping those in need through the many opportunities at the Kingston Community House.  Christmas Eve Santa deliveries were always a family favorite.  Moving to Henderson County some 20 years ago offered new options where Iradj could share his generous heart.
A world traveler, Iradj loved visiting with family and friends.  Whether in Iran, Turkey, France, or walking the beach in South Carolina, he was always game for adventure and would have wonderful stories to share.
He leaves his sisters Zhila Ellis, Mina Khalkhali,  Lila Khalkhali, daughter Lisa Berl, son-in-law Tom Berl, grandchildren Caitlyn and Cameron Berl, niece Tarlan Ellwood, her husband Martin and their daughters Theia and Carissa, nephews Dan and Clayton Birdsall, and nieces, Mary Liz and Nancy Birdsall. Also, numerous friends, notably his Hendersonville “family” Fred Rindge, and Gerald Lyda, and his family.
A memorial service will be held in Haverhill, MA on Saturday, Sept. 18th at 11:00 AM at The Universalist Unitarian Church, 15 Kenoza Avenue.
