Henry Lee “Hank” Haferkamp

Henry Lee “Hank” Haferkamp, 84, of Springfield died at 4:46 pm, Sunday, July 11, 2021 at River Birch Living Center. He was born September 4, 1936 in Staunton, IL to Henry and Leona (Streeb) Haferkamp.

He is survived by a son, Craig Haferkamp of Springfield; two grandchildren, Samuel and Benjamin Haferkamp; one sister, Mary (Richard) Radell of Milwaukee, WI and one niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a longtime member of West Side Christian Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Hank retired from Springfield Clinic after 43 years of service as a Microbiologist.

He enjoyed boating, jazz music and playing the trumpet.

Visitation: 4 – 6 pm, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at West Side Christian Church.

Funeral Service: 6:00 pm, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at West Side Christian Church with Pastor Cindy Lash officiating.

Graveside service: 10:00 am, Friday, July 16, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Burial Detail and the United
States Air Force.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
