Hazeline Ritchie Corn

Hazeline Ritchie Corn, 90, of Hendersonville passed away at her home on Monday, May 24, 2021 following a brief illness. A native of Mecklenburg County, she had resided in Charlotte and Midland, NC prior to settling in Henderson County. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Carlos P. and Agnes H. Raborn. Hazel was also preceded in death by her husbands, John Ritchie and Gordon Corn; grandson, J.D. Love; brothers, Jerry Raborn, Tony Raborn and Larry Raborn.

Hazel held an Associate’s degree, which she earned after attending Kings College and was affiliated with Howell’s Baptist Church, Fruitland Baptist Church and the Salvation Army, USA. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and getting dressed up.

Hazel is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Jo Bryant (Lonnie) of Marietta, SC and Karen Richi (Joe) of Charlotte, NC; step-children, Belina Frantz (Douglas), Lowell Corn (Sheila) and Alan Corn; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons; special friends, Ron and Judy Griffin, Majors Gary and Beth Sturdivant and Shirley Murphy; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Fruitland Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Stepp and Major Gary Sturdivant officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11am in Howell’s Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord, NC.

She is a beautiful Lady and has a beautiful soul and spirit and is with Mr Corn and Our Savior.Our community in Greystone will miss her greatly as we did Mr Gordon also.
