Hazel B. Patterson

Hazel B. Patterson, 101, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Park Village Care Center at Dover.

Born February 4, 1921 in Wooster, she was the daughter of the late Olie O. and Grace M. (Shaw) Rainsberger. Hazel was a homemaker, a longtime member of First Christian Church at New Philadelphia and a former volunteer at the former Twin City Hospital at Dennison.

Hazel is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (William) Goodwill of Plant City, Florida, Dena (Michael) Reidl of Seville and Donna (Danny) Smith of Canton; her son, David (Sherry) Patterson of New Philadelphia; her sister, Kay Allison of Chesapeake, Virginia and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Earl D. Patterson; a son, Rennard Patterson and three siblings, Foster Rainsberger, George Rainsberger and Ruth Guthrie also precede her in death.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Hazel’s life will begin immediately following the visitation at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Borton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
