Harriet Louise Collins

Harriet Louise Collins, 83, of Galion, Ohio passed away at her home on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born in Blanchester, Ohio on December 8, 1937 to the late Forrest and Mable (Achor) Shank.

Harriet was an avid reader and collector of all kinds of dolls and cardinals. She loved gardening, chickens and spending time with family, especially her grandson, Jeff Collins II. Harriet was a member of The Pines Christian Church. She was a former member of Northside Christian Church in Xenia, Ohio where she was a Sunday school teacher and secretary of the church. She was always willing to help with church events in any way she could.

Harriet is survived by her son, Jeff (Rose) Collins of Galion; brothers, Donnie Shank of Blanchester, Ohio and Lewis (Delores) Shank of Florissant, Missouri; grandson, Lieutenant Jeff Collins II of the United States Navy of San Diego, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Glenna Jean Cravens, Betty Metzger, Mary Schmidt, Ruth Schmidt and Wanda Dixon; and brother, Forest Bud Shank.

No services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to The Pines Christian Church, 6775 US-42, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
