Harold E. Thill Jr.

Harold E. Thill Jr.

Harold E. Thill Jr. of Plano Illinois passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final days. Harold was 84 years old. He was born on January 21, 1937 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the second son of Harold and Alice (Lee) Thill.

Mr. Thill served our country proudly as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division for the United States Army obtaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. Harold (Junior) was united in marriage on February 29, 1964 to the former Barbara A. Miller and they spent the next 57 years happily together. Those years were 14 and a half if you ask Junior! For many years he was the owner and operator of Thill’s Roofing and Insulation in Plano. He was a loving husband, Dad, proud Grampa, Runt to his siblings and Uncle. He authored “RESPECT…And/Or The Lack Thereof” which was a personal goal while being ill.  Harold’s presence, stories and laugh will be deeply missed by all of those that loved him so very much.

Harold is survived by his wife, Barbara Thill of Plano, Illinois; his two daughters, Susan (Stephen) Nadolny of Pace, Florida, and B. Genia (Michael) Strukel of Plano, Illinois; his grandchildren; great grandchildren; two sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews. Each of us know that he will live on through fish fries, our craftmanship, pictures upon pictures, time with a good book and trips to Oberweis especially on a hot summer day.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice Thill, brother, Joseph Thill and sister, Audrey Goetsch.

While the services for Mr. Thill will be private, we ask that in lieu of flowers, those who prefer may make memorial contributions to the Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District at 5 East North Street, Plano, Il. 60545. Their service to Dad and Grandpa was paramount over the last few years. Our sincerest gratitude to the Fire & Rescue Team for their prompt, kind, loving transports which overall was lifesaving and permitted us to have more time together.

We each share an enduring gratefulness to Charge Nurse Maggie of Rush Copley Medical Center who provided Dad with care and dignity after he had passed on.
