H. JoAnn East

H. JoAnn East, nee Ing, 92, passed away on March 28, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Carl Graydon “Don”. Loving mother of Martha (Steve) Page, David (Donna) East and the late John and Joe (Jan). Cherished grandmother of Heather (Jason), Emily (Brian), Evan, John, Sarah, Michael (Katelyn) and Mallory (Joshua). Proud great-grandmother of 7. Dear aunt to Martha Jo Milcarek. JoAnn will be missed by many friends and family. She was a dedicated and caring teacher and made an impact on generations of students over her 50 year teaching career including many students at St. Theresa Catholic School in Palatine where she taught for 20 years. In addition to teaching, she was an avid reader and volunteered at several local charities and at her church. JoAnn will always be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3 from 2-6pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL 60067. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 4 at 10am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton St., Palatine IL 60067. Private interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery, Brookfield, WI. Memorial donations in JoAnn’s name can be made to St. Theresa Catholic School.
