Gussie Dean Davis affectionately called (Granny) died suddenly on May 7, 2021. She was the only child born to the late Ada B. Stone and Jack Davis in Yantley, Alabama. She was one of the last matriarchs of the family and the last of the golden girls.
She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she served in the choir for many years. Her hobbies were cooking and taking very good care of her yard. Her life was her kids, grandkids, and their friends. There wasn’t anything that she would not do for them. Mom was Granny to everyone and loved by so many!
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darnell Richardson, and daughters, Patricia Bowles and Elaine Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Julius Richardson (Rosemary) of Sugarland, TX; daughters, Vicky Richardson-Collins (Jimmie), Beverly Richardson, Lucinda Gunn, all of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Dr. Rhea Richardson, Coley Richardson, Jaquar Richardson, Latesha Roberts (Keith), Shayla Richardson of Kansas, Lance Richardson (Joyce), Shandre Richardson of Kansas, Candace Jones, Revel Richardson, Ariel Gunn of Atlanta, Ga, Lanitra Richardson, and Errin Jones; son-in-law, Eddie Jones; daughter-in-law, Kathy Richardson; 13 great-grandchildren; one uncle, Peter Fitch, and many cousins and a host of family members and friends.
