Gloria Jean Warner, 83, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Father Dennis Conway will officiate. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gloria was born on October 8, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Howard S. and Vernetta (Campbell) Paulline. She was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School and went on to earn her associate degree in Minnesota. On February 16, 1963, Gloria was united in marriage to Robert William Warner in Clinton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gloria was a loving mother and homemaker and worked in the travel industry until retirement. She was a painter and artist of beautiful outdoor scenes as well as talented at sewing, making Halloween costumes, wedding and prom dresses. She had a Santa Claus collection and loved Christmas. Gloria was an avid volunteer for Mended Hearts, Breast Cancer Society, and St. Luke’s Hospital. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gloria is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Warner; children, Lesley Barrett, Steven Warner, and William (Debra) Warner; grandchildren, Robert (Nadia) Lubeznik-Warner, Craig Barrett, Caitlyn (Josh) Barrett-Wilson, Alyssa (Nick) Thomas, and Courtney (James) Dennis; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Howard, Lynnie, Theodora, Wade, and Titan; sister, Pam Junker; brother, Greg Paulline; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Alan Barrett.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to St. Luke’s Hospital and Mercy Hospice for the care Gloria received.
