Gervase Leo Driscoll, 87, of North Liberty, died on Nov. 19, 2023 at Lantern Park Specialty Care surrounded by family.
Visitation will be from 4-6:00pm on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A memorial service will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Lantern Park Specialty Care or St. Patrick Catholic Church, Iowa City.
Gervase was born on Jan. 29, 1936, in Mechanicsville, IA, the son of Leo and Alice (Fisher) Driscoll. He was a graduate of Stanwood High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
On Sept. 16, 1961, Gervase married Lavone Wenndt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, IA. Their union resulted in three children: Dirk, Darwin and Dawn.
For over 28 years, Gervase worked for Mid-American Energy Company as a crew foreman, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Iowa City, the Iowa City Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus 842.
In his free time, Gervase loved to refinish furniture, spend time with family and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Gervase was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis “George”, sister Barbara and his wife Lavone in 2003. He is survived by his children: Dirk, Darwin and Dawn; 5 grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild; siblings: Mary Alice (husband Paul) and Jim (wife Rhonda); sister-in-law Jean, brother-in-law Ervin; significant other Joan Cross and numerous extended family and friends.
