Gerda Graesser, 93, of Amana, Iowa, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Colonial Manor in Amana. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Gerda was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Fichthorst, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Margrit (Thiel) Moeller. She worked at Amana Refrigeration and Schanz Furniture. Gerda was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved to travel, knit and cane chairs. She helped cane the largest rocking chair in the world which is in Amana, Iowa.

Survivors include her daughter, Helga (Kurt) Etscheidt of Cotopaxi, Colo.; granddaughters, Monique (Joe) Clifford of East Lansing, Mich., and Renell Strait of Cedar Rapids; great-grandsons, Conor (Cara) Clifford, of Madison, Wis., Brady Clifford of Fort Wayne, Ind., Liam Clifford of East Lansing and Hunter Strait of Kirksville, Mo. son-in-law, Jerry Strait of Cedar Rapids; niece, Angelika (Doug) Bryson of Amana, Iowa; and great-niece and -nephew, Gina Bryson-Glandorf of Amana and Levi (Jessica) Bryson of Amana.

Gerda was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Margrit Moeller; and daughter, Inga Strait; siblings, Hinze (Hilda) Moeller, Bruno Moeller, Gerhart (Gerda) Moeller and Helmut (Irmtraud) Moeller.
