Georgianne Houk

Georgianne Houk, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born June 9, 1939, in Springfield, the daughter of George H. and Alcy L. Neal Roy. She married Floyd R. Houk July 28, 1962 and he survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Dawn (Dave) Miller of Springfield; two step-children, Brad (Ruth) Houk of Houston, TX and Stephanie Russi of Sanford, FL; two grandchildren, Marissa and Sean Miller; seven step-grandchildren, Rachael Houk, Esther (Justin) Powers, Nathan (Sharon) Houk, Priscilla (Brennan) Mancil, Anna Houk, Anne Russi, and Sara Russi; two step-great-granddaughters; one sister, Delcie (Mike) Boubel of Henderson, NV; two brothers, Richard (Linda) Roy of Richmond, VA and Dennis (Lori) Brimberry of Brighton, MI, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Roy; one sister, Beverly Reuss, and one infant son, Bret Allen Houk.

Georgianne was an active member of Jerome United Methodist Church for 41 years where she served on various committees and taught Sunday school.  She was president of Jerome Women’s Club and was a Girl Scout leader. Georgianne worked in childcare for many years. She also worked in retail at K’s Merchandise and at Class Act Photography Studio. She enjoyed ceramics, attending craft shows, traveling and weekend getaways.

Visitation: 2 – 4 pm, Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Lie in State: 10 – 11 am, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Donn Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jerome United Methodist Church or Animal Protective League.
