George William Duncan

Of Delavan

George Duncan was born February 19, 1944 in Cook County, Illinois to George and Clara (Miller) Duncan.  He passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his home in Delavan.

George was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He served in the US Navy as a cook on the USS Leahy.

George later began working for GM, which is where he retired from after many years of service.

In 1976 Him and his family built a home on the channel of Lake Camelot in Northern Wisconsin. This is where he loved to be the most. He enjoyed many things, especially boating, he was very proud and well known for having the fastest, loudest, and most beautiful boat; Wild Thing, on Lake Camelot.

Anyone who knew George knew how much he loved to joke and tell stories, definitely, not a man you could forget.

In 2019 George ended up in the hospital with a serious hip fracture and moved in with his daughter Donna and her family in Delavan, to be cared for. In August 2021 he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which had metastasized into his bones. George spent his remaining days being cared for by family and friends on hospice.

George lived a good life and was loved by so many.

George is survived by his children William (Sue) Duncan and Donna “Bug” (Dan) Keithley; grandchildren Jeanna Richardson, Jeremy (Ashley) Duncan, Justin Keithley, Devon Keithley, Kayleigh (Fiancé Jordan York) Keithley, and Paula (Jeremy) Kirchner; as well as 9 great grandchildren.
