George Lowe Jr.
Born of the union to George Lowe Sr. and Velma Williams on December 19, 1946, in Akron, Ohio. George Lowe, age 74, departed this world and was met at the Pearly Gates of Heaven by his father and mother, where he was escorted to his loving Creator on November 29, 2021. George, a life-time resident of Akron, was known by many, truly loved, and will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
He graduated from Hower High School. He went to college for a while, then decided to join the Army, where he served our country from 1969 – 1973. Retiring from Ohio Bell in 2005, he found his calling as a community photographer. He loved photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lowe, Sr. and Velma Lowe; his uncle and aunt, Richard and Faye Williams; and sister, Carolyn Alati.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his loving and faithful wife of 31 years, Halimah Lowe; his brother, Haron Williams; children, Deonna Dixon, Rinda (Andrew) Dodson, Georgia Ray, Asya Hasan, Asya Lowe, Nigel (Quinita) Riggins, Brian Nesby, Naim (Colette) Al-Qaadir, Saleem Al-Qaadir and Marvin Dixon; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
