Geneva Ward Bollinger

Geneva Ward Bollinger, 89, of Zirconia, died Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Elizabeth House.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late John Runyon Ward and Minnie Levi Ward.  Geneva is also preceded in death by all her siblings, Clarence Ward, Mae Ward Johnson, Ruth Ward, Grover Ward, Janie Ward Simpson, Margaret Ward, J. C. Ward, Jay Lee Ward, and Johnny Ward. She is preceded in death by four spouses: Her husband and father of her three children, Judd Allen Ward. They attended Cedar Springs Baptist Church; Her husband Edward Lee Hunnicutt. They attended First Baptist Church of East Flat Rock; Her husband Milford Moore. They attended Mud Creek Baptist Church, and her husband Bobby Bollinger.  They attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.  She was blessed to have had four good Christian men in her life.

Geneva worked in production sewing for years; and after her first husband passed, she pursued her dream of going to Beauty School.  She then opened her own Beauty Shop in East Flat Rock called “Village Hairstyling”.

She loved flowers and had quite the green thumb.  Geneva liked to sew and quilt, and she was a great cook.  Geneva spent her final days in Four Season’s Hospice at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock; where she lost her battle with stage IV cancer, surrounded by her loving family, and the wonderful staff that cared for her there.

She is survived by three children; Elizabeth Ward Corn, James Perry Ward, and Judy Ward Baker (Terry); six grandchildren, Jennifer Corn Dyer (Jim), Matthew Allen Henson (Amber), Lindsey Ward Rogers (Jacoby), Angela Corn Whelchel (Walter), Amanda Henson Baker (Jason), and Christina Ward Kyle (Michael); eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
