Gary Wayne Haught, 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Ora and Verneda (Stevens) Haught, Gary was born July 12, 1955 at Wheeling, West Virginia.
Gary graduated from Indian Valley South High School. He then went to work in the Oil and Gas Industry and served many years in that line of work before retiring from Atlas Oil & Gas. He was also an avid fisherman who loved being on the water. He fished many lakes over the years but he especially enjoyed fishing at Leesville Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Krebs) Haught whom he married on August 15, 1978; his children, Leslie (Cory) Hill, Marci (Eric) Aronhalt and Curtis (Amanda) Haught; his grandchildren, Brock, Brennan, Brynnle, Breeze, Brogan, Braxton, Katie, Brynn, Lydia and Sabrina; a great-grandchild, Bryer; his siblings, Debbie Haught, Peggy Shinaberry and Terri (David) Deets and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Clifford “Butch” Haught, Pam Bolitho, Donna Kochman-Kohl, Nancy Holmes and her husband, Leon, and Sandra Hursey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Gary’s life will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Schoenbrunn Meadow Cemetery at New Philadelphia. A luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia following the services.
