Freeman Blade Jr., went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2021.

Freeman leaves to cherish his wonderful memory and legacy a host of family and friends including: his loving wife Deborah Gooden Blade; brothers J.C. Blade and Jerry Blade; sister-in-law Dawn Zachary; children/stepchildren Isaiah Veal (wife Staysha, sister Querida, mother Darcel Veal Hutchinson, and grandmother V. Marie Compton), Amber Gooden, Jason Gooden (Naimah), and John Torres (Melissa); a host of grandchildren including Christopher Adams, Zachary Smith, Dorian Gooden, and Lia Gooden located in Greater Cleveland/Reminderville; nephews/grandnephew: Karl and Marty Blade, Jaiden Ross; nieces/grandniece: Geraldine Blade, Danielle Basim, Amber Basim, Chantelle Ross, Tanaysia Ross; and godchildren Devin, Jasmine and Adrian Torres. Last, but not least, Freeman considered everyone whose life he touched to be family, so know that you are also included.
Guy, is what I started calling Freeman every since we were in college together. He truly loved the Lord and would take every opportunity to share his faith and incorporate his faith in his coaching. He will be greatly missed.
