Esther Barbara Drwal

Esther Barbara Drwal, age 92 of Yorkville, IL formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hillside Rehab and Care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born on July 10, 1928 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Frank Joseph and Julia Barbara (Knapp) Smuszkiewicz.

Esther was united in marriage on November 24 1951 to Mr. John S. Drwal and they spent the next 52 years happily together until his passing on January 27, 2003. Mrs. Drwal was a member of both St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL and its Busy Hands Ministry. Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Esther is survived by her children, Therese (Michael) Hulbert of Chicago, IL, Barbara (Roy) Meller of Carol Stream, IL and John (Angela) Drwal of Yorkville, IL; her six grandchildren, Cynthia (David) Figueroa, Michael (Pamela Kuta) Hulbert, Jr., Sean (Jocelyn Cartwright) Hulbert, Nicole (Kevin) Beck, Jacqueline (Joseph) Vogt, Michael (Janelle Keeley) Drwal; her great-grandchildren, Kristina Elaine Seidler, Abigail Rose Hulbert, Trenton and Noah Drwal, Benjamin and Samuel Vogt, and Charles and Eleanor Beck; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Smuszkiewicz; and many, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Smuszkiewicz; her husband, John Drwal; her daughter, Mary in infancy; her grandson, Joseph J. Drwal; her siblings, Joseph, Mary, Cecilia, Irene, Frances, Lottie, Sophie, Frank, Victoria and Richard.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
