Elizabeth “Puzz” George

Elizabeth “Puzz” George, age 97, of Waterman, IL passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Oak Crest Nursing Home in DeKalb, IL. She was born on September 24, 1923 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of Frank and Florence (Robling) Gilbert.
Elizabeth was united in marriage on June 28, 1947 to Milo “Buck” George and they spent the next 57 years happily together, until his passing on July 1, 2004. Mrs. George was formerly employed at the Waterman School District as both a school librarian and a teacher for 28 years. Elizabeth was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in DeKalb, IL. She was also a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Waterman Area Heritage Society. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Karyn Angstadt of Lawrenceville, GA; her grandchildren, Jared (Anne) Angstadt of Atlanta, GA, and Courtney Angstadt of Norcross, GA; and her great-grandson, Robert “Bobby” Angstadt.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Florence Gilbert; her husband, Milo George; her son, Douglas George; and her sister, Arline Gilbert.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 900 Normal Rd., DeKalb, IL. Interment will follow in the North Clinton Cemetery in Waterman, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman, IL.
