Dorothy Mary Barron

On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Dorothy Mary Barron (nee Sikora), 84, passed away peacefully in her home. She was born July 13, 1937, to Polish immigrants Antoni Sikora and Stella Szewczyk Sikora in St. Louis, MO. On October 16, 1976, she married Hector J. Barron, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2011.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings; Anthony, Ann, Stanley, Joseph, John, Hattie, Helen, Theresa, Genevieve, Irene and Mary Agnes.

She is survived by her daughter Krista (Don) Bivens of Springfield, and their children Barron, Hector, and Madeleine; stepdaughter Margaret (Geoff) Barron of Belleville; stepson Michael Barron of Collinsville, and  his children Brandon, Dustin (Stacie), and Melissa; as well as several great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Antoinette (Bill) McFarland and Anita (Phil) Karler.

Dorothy was a devout Catholic and was involved with various Catholic Church organizations through the years.

Upon the family’s request, a Memorial Mass and will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
