Dorothy Marie Burton

Dorothy Marie Burton, age 96, of Plano, IL passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. She was born on March 8, 1925 in Keosaqua, IA the daughter of Frank and Mary (Cooper) Wesely.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald Alexander until his passing in 1969 and then to Richard Burton until his passing in 1990. Mrs. Burton was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Plano in Plano, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Timothy) Kupp of Plano, IL; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Alexander of Illinois; her three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles Wesely of Salem, IA; her sisters, Jane Gilson of Omaha, NE and Genevieve (Nathan) Fetterman of Salem, IA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Wesley; her husbands, Donald Alexander and Richard Burton; her son Kenneth James Alexander; and her eight siblings.

Funeral Services are private. Interment will take place in Salem, IL.
