Dorothy “Fredine” Ward

Dorothy “Fredine” Ward, 82, of Cleburne, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1 P.M., on February 26, 2022, at the Grace Community Church in Glen Rose.  Burial will be private at a later date.

Fredine was a born June 29, 1939 in Liberty, Texas to Ronald and Dorothy Theis.  On November 24, 1964, Fredine married Donald Wayne Ward and together had three children, Teresa, Kellye, and Leo.  Fredine’s Baptist faith was important to her.   She will be remembered for her “adventurous spirit” which included motorcycle riding, cattle driving and even drag racing!   Additionally, Fredine had a sense of adventure which included out-door activities including, camping, hunting, and fishing.  She was always excited to follow her husband to travel to various assignments in the Oil Fields.  Fredine “never met at stranger” and was always very family oriented – always keeping in touch with her extended family.  Her most proud accomplishment was earning her Bachelor’s Degree in her 60’s!

Fredine is survived by her children, Teresa and husband Darel Weiman, Kellye Ward, and Leo and wife Lisa Ward; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, John Theis; and by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Fredine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and by her infant brother, Ronny Theis.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fredine’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
