Doris P. Baie

Doris P. “Dottie” Baie, age 94, of Hinckley, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her home in Hinckley.  She was born on August 25, 1929 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Harry and Eula (Morsch) Phillips.

Dottie was united in marriage on July 14, 1948 to Mr. Edward Baie and they spent the next 64 years happily together until his passing on November 25, 2012. Dottie was employed by the Hinckley – Big Rock School District for 42 years and drove a school bus for 30 of those years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by her family and many friends.

Dottie is survived by her children, Jeff (Edith) Baie of Phoenix, AZ, Gloria Reyes of Hinckley, IL, Gary (Kimberly) Baie of Hinckley, IL; her grandchildren, Julie (Shawn) Turney of Breese, IL, Sandra (Lenny) Johnson of Belfair, WA, Jason Reyes of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie (Brian) Long of Hinckley, IL, Chad (Lindsay) Baie, Darien, IL; her seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jacque Phillips of Hinckley, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Eula Phillips; her husband, Edward E. Baie; her son, Randy Edward Baie; and her three brothers.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. Interment will be held in Oak Mound Cemetery, Somonauk, IL.

Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel in Hinckley, IL.

Since Dottie was a lover of the color purple the family requests you wear something purple in her honor.
