The family of Donna Kay Cole, announces the celebration of their beloved mother, mother-in-love, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We will miss your prayer support, humor, warm heart, encouraging words, wisdom and loving generous spirit, but may you have a huge celebration with the Lord. Donna Kay passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. She was born February 22, 1945, in Stamford, Texas to Ralph Doyle Ross, Sr. and Kathryn Dowling Kinney Ross. She was a member of the Pure Praise Church in Granbury and was a member of the Prayer Team. Donna Kay was an Ordained Minister and was a Chaplain of the Prison Ministry, Bridges to Life. She supported the Samaritans Purse and the Jewish Ministries. She was very active in the Granbury Independent School District Board Meetings to help and protect the future of our children. She was also very involved in numerous Bible Studies, defended abused women and was an advocate for children. Donna Kay was a great supporter of the Conservative Republican Party.
Donna Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James “Joe” Cole, a brother, R.D. Ross, Jr., grandparents, John Henry Kinney and Sarah Purdy Kinney and by her mother-in-love, Lucille Cole.
She is survived by her son, Coby Nelson and wife Nancy; son, Guy Nelson; daughter, Nikki Quattlebaum and husband, J.D.; son, Gabe Cole and wife, Katrina; eight grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyle, Dakotah, Kevin, Katrina, Kurtis, Lee, and Ryan; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 23,2023, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with Pastor Ronnie Allard officiating.
Visitation will be from 1-2pm Monday, January 23, 2023, prior to the Celebration of Life.
