Donald  Berringer

Donald Berringer, 83, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021at UH Parma Medical Center. Born March 30, 1938 in Ashland, he was the son of David G. and Evelyn (Holbrook) Berringer.

Donald was co-owner of Mulberry Press where he worked as a printer. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed Amish Country, camping and going to Hershey, Pennsylvania. He was a collector of anything GMC having had many cars and trucks throughout his life. He was Treasurer of the National GMC Truck Club, was a member of the Massillon Car Club, the Lincoln Highway Association Mid Ohio Chapter, the American Truck Historical Society, the Antique Automobile Club of America, the Car Coddlers of Ohio and the Ohio Vintage Truck Black Swamp Chapter.

Donald frequented many auctions and collected anything petroleum related. He would attend all of the national car events and never missed one of his grandchildren’s events.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary (Guiler) Berringer; his children, Terri (Edward) Rykalla, Kim Robinson and Sam (Lynette) Piper; his grandchildren, Amanda (Shannon) Sheets, Courtney Robinson and Michael Robinson; his great grandchildren, Levi Sheets and Jameson Sheets, Terri’s step daughters, Sarah, Kaylee and Emily and three step grandchildren, Jack, Nora and Henry, his sister, Linda (Keith) Metcalf; and two nephews, Kevin and John Metcalf and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joe Robinson.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sullivan Southview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
