Don B. Dolmyer, age 70 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Tuesday,
December 28, 2021 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on March 7, 1951 in Chicago, IL the son of Byron and Mildred (Sellers) Dolmyer.
Don was united in marriage on September 10, 1976 to Marianne English and they spent the next 45 years happily together. Mr. Dolmyer was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL. Don was also a member of both the Knights of Columbus and the St. Patrick Men’s Club. Don loved cars, car racing and was a proud Corvette owner. Throughout his life, he owned a number of classic cars that he enjoyed restoring, driving, and showing in car shows. His love of cars led to a lifetime of work in the automotive industry. Don spent the last few years as the Parts Manager with the Gjovik Chevrolet car dealership in Sandwich, IL.
Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends due to his kind and easy going nature, as well as his unfailing optimism.
Don is survived by his wife, Marianne English Dolmyer of Yorkville, IL; his children, John “Jay” (Dee Dorsano) Vokurka, Kathleen “Katie” (Richard) Engstrom and Matthew (Carla) Dolmyer; his three grandchildren, Alexandra and Luke Engstrom and Ronan Dolmyer. He was the much loved brother-in-law of Nora English, Mary Gruenberg, Stacey English, and Tom English.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Mildred Dolmyer.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL.
Memorial Visitation from 10:30 AM until time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Interment will be private in St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
