Dolores Darlene “Dee” Vandenberg passed away on Feb. 27, 2023. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. She resided at Meth-Wick in Cedar Rapids the last few years. Iowa Cremation is assisting with arrangements.

Dee was born Jan. 2, 1939, to Dale and Virginia (Lyons) Beggs in Bonaparte, Iowa. She was the oldest of five children. She married Richard Vandenberg on June 1, 1956, in Keosauqua, Iowa. They were married for 63 years until his passing on Aug. 28, 2019.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, and was an avid book reader. She was blessed with a special friendship with Lois Hamer and Marlys Smith.

Dee is survived by her siblings, Donna Washburn of Kahoka, Mo., Michael Beggs (Susan ) of San Antonio, Texas, and Randy Phillips of Keosauqua, Iowa; daughters, Raeanne (Kevin) Purvis of Blue Springs, Mo., Rhonda (Gary) Flowers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her estranged daughter, Roberta (Mark) Buss of Maple Lake, Minn.; grandchildren, Randene (David) McKinney, Amanda Sue Anderson, Dane Fisher, Casey (Jon) Casas, and Anthony (Nicole) Buss; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Anderson, Jadyn (Lucas) Berry, Maleeyah Lenards, and Daityn McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her great-grandson, Dallas Anderson.
