Dixie L. Thornton, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Dixie was born February 1, 1961, in Aitkin, Minnesota, to Virginia (White) and Alvin L. Boots, Sr. She married Robert Foster Thornton, Sr., on December 30, 1994.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Thornton of Cedar Rapids; son, Dustin Lee Boots of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Jennifer Ann Isbell of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Marty Boots.
